# Reflections on GBAD vs FOBA - in person vs online

A lasting BA career is built on career capital, not titles or certifications.

Two events. Two audiences. One message that resonated everywhere.

Recently, I had the chance to speak at two major IIBA events:

FOBA (Festival of Business Analysis) and GBAD (Global Business Analysis Day) 2025

Business Analysts everywhere are asking:

**"How do I build a career that lasts?"**

Not through titles.

Not through certifications alone.

Not through hoping someone notices.

The answer was

**Career Capital** — the skills, outcomes, and influence that make you *so good they can't ignore you*:

The BA profession is evolving fast in 2026.

And the people who invest in Career Capital will lead the next chapter.

**2026 is going to be big for those willing to step up.**
